I've got 3 old MTR's. All three have sidewall damage. One is on a 15x10x5.5 Chrome Mod wheel . I have used that one as a spare for a few years - never lost any air. The second tires has two plugs in the sidewall - I have ran this one for one trip - held air fine. The third tire has a cut in the sidewall - I bought it used not knowing the sidewall was cut, and I never ran it. I think they can be patched from the inside
