I just bought my first jeep a 91 cherokee its missing the ring and pinion in the front axle any tips on how to get the right parts

first check to see what gear ratio you have in the rear axle. then (if it was me) i would go cheep and go to a junk yard or look on line for sombody who is parting out a cherokee. find a front axle with the same gear ratio swap the axles for maybe 100 to 150. unless you know how to install a ring the ring and pinion. if you dont it will get expensive to buy a new ring and pinion and have sombody install it for you.
