Spent last weekend in yellowstone, what a beautiful place! Thought I would share a few pics.

I have been to Yellowstone countless times and have never seen a bear. Those are great pictures.

Thanks for the compliments! I was very lucky to run into the bears. I saw them from far away up on a ridge and stopped the car to watch them. They eventually worked their way down to a pond to have a drink and a swim, and then continued on to the road where I was standing. I stood by my car as long as I dared, she got about 15 feet away before I slammed the car door and drove away, got the blood pumping quite a bit!

The rangers are allowing the bears to come closer to places that people are allowing us to see these creatures up close... it was a change in park policy a few years ago that is bringing more people back to the park.

I still remember when I was a kid at Yellowstone, it was just like the scene from one of the Vacation movies, my Dad parking the family station wagon near the dump and putting something on the hood and bears climbing up to get it.
