Figured I'd post up my videos and hopefully some pictures as soon as I get them from my trip to Sand Hollow after OSRC. I drove down late Saturday night, the only way we could find a place to crash was to drive out of town and find a dirt road on some BLM land and pitch a tent for the night. Luckily we still got better and more sleep than we did in the parking lot at OSRC. In the morning we met up with Nate, Mike, two Jeff's and Kevin for some fun out at Sand Hollow.

Started the day out wheeling Double Sammy which was fantastic. After that I think we hit part of Smurfette, part of Nasty Half, part of Milts Mile and maybe another one in there as well I'm not sure.

I'm still working on loading videos on youtube so there will be more to come this afternoon and hopefully some pics to come as well.

Looks like an awesome time!

It was. It's refreshing to find a group of guys that wheel as hard as the group I went out with. We all pretty much agreed that it's not easy going into a wheeling trip on extremely difficult trails with someone you have never met before not knowing if you are gonna meet one of those guys thats scared of a scratch on their paint.

Oh and since today is my birthday I've decided I'm not going to do anything video/wheeling/Jeep related so more videos will have to wait till tomorrow.

As always, Sand Hollow was good to us! We did Double Sammy, that big climb in post 3 is the end of it. We ended up on Smurfettes by accident for a little ways and then back-tracked down. We were looking for Upper Chain but decided to bag it and head to Nasty Half. We did all the obstacles but the last one. Buggy Jeff did it and then I got jammed up and had to pull cable so everyone else bypassed it. On the way out we went down Milt's Mile.

I couldn't agree more about wheeling with cool people that know their rigs and like to have fun. I look forward to wheeling with you guys again! I'll get the few pics I took posted up in a bit

Oh and I traded quite a bit of black paint from my fenders with the rocks and the MC fenders held up amazing. I also learned that the Jeep door hinges will give a little before destroying anything else, I lost some red paint off my driver door hinge to some sand stone.

Brian giving the first obstacle of Double Sammy a real effort. That obstacle defeated all of us besides Buggy Jeff but he doesn't count image.jpg

Looks good! We were down below you on chain reaction for awile that day. That climb is actually the last climb of chain reaction, double sammy goes quite a ways farther than that area.

I didn't even see you guys. Dang, I didn't know that was part of Chain. Kevin was leading us and said that was pretty much the last climb on Double Sammy. That trail is one of the ones that I don't have the GPX files for.

The trails down there are so hard to follow, the only ones I know by memory are West Rim, The Maze and Sliplock Gulch. Oh and Nasty Half but that's just because it's a no-brainer.

Then again it looks like there is a bunch of new (to me) signage on Sliplock and John's and the trails even seem to be a little different than the way I learned them.

It was great to wheel with you Nate. May I say your rig just works. It was a fun day. Let me know when you guys are down here again. Definitly want to wheel with you again.
