So it sounds like im going to be doing some engine work on the jeep this winter and ive been considering throwing in a different camshaft for a little more torque and such

ive got a 2002 Jeep Tj with the 4.0

has anyone done this before? just curious if you like it or hate it

Im not a motor guru by any means, however I have used at least 5 different cams in my toy motors over the years. Your cam makes a BIG difference.
Stock engines are built for everyday all around use, so they generally have a pretty broad range cam. The cams that I have had the best off road results with, have been the low end to mid-range cams.

Delta Cams of Tacoma, WA. I have not done this on a 4.0, but have done it on a Subaru EA81, Ford 2.3, and Ford FE 360 with a huge noticeable difference in all three. I would like to put one in the 258 in my Eagle, but I need another family vehicle on the road again before I take that thing down.
