Is there an answer other than Optima?

It gets driven once a month for 50 miles in a burst... it sits the rest of the time.

I'm a bit rusty on the current hotness in batteries, so let me know what I should pick up.

It's get a couple of interstates that are just out of warranty and won't take a charge.

The truck has seen a lot of washboard roads in it's life, but it won't see them nearly as often moving forward.

There is a good battery thread in the General 4x4 section right now. Do you have the room to fit a pair of 6 volt RV batteries in there? They are designed to sit for awhile and have huge reserve capacity.

Personally I would swap out the Interstates for a fresh pair. Buy them from an Interstate store, they have better prices and service than a dealer that has had them on a shelf for a year.
