Better than Warn Tire carrier?

So i have a tj Warn rear bumper that is tire carrier "ready" I dont want to pay more 300 bucks for nothing more than a "tire" holder. so... ive started building my own... i will post pics when i get my phone back (broke it last night) but i do/will have a few questions as i go.

My first question is what does warn do for their hinge? do they just do it metal on metal? or do they use a brass/nylon bushing between?

i believe the post is 1.480 O.D. Any recommendations on what to use?
