Brake light special wiring help needed

So if I had as an example three brake lights and I wanted them to illuminate one after the other:ex; a then b then c then b to a. How could I do that? I want to say the late Cougars did that? Can it simply be wired to do that or do I need some sort of electronic add in? Thanks

I installed sequential lights on my 2006 Mustang GT. When the turn signal (or brake) is activated, they illuminate like this:

A
A+B
A+B+C
(off)

(not my video)

This is what some classic Thunderbirds did. It is very easy to do; you just need to add a resistor to the wire going to bulb B and a larger resistor going to bulb C.

What the OP wants, if I've understood it, is this:

A
B
C
B
A
(off)

This Knight Rider effect is comparatively complex, and (I believe) would require some electronic wizardry involving a circuit board.

Cool thanks, I'm betting that I was behind Turbominivan on Bangerter one day because it was about a 2006 Mustang that I saw them on that gave me an idea to something with a third brake light I'm working on.
