broke door lock

i have a 95 yj and the door lock broke with the door shut and locked. how do i get the door open to fix the lock.

you will have to take the door panel off and unlock it from inside the door.

taking the panel off is free though.

uh, kind of a pain when the door's closed. Try that on an XJ sometime LOL... it SUCKS.

If you can find someone with a slim jim they can unlock it for you. That won't do you a whole lot of good unless atleast one of the handles work to open the door. Then it will be easier to pull the panel off to fix the problem. If you have a cop or tow truck friend or neighbor they might have a slim jim.

both handels work just the lock broke frome what i can tell

Near the door jam there is a vertical s shaped piece that connects the door lock on the door handle to the door lock on the latch. Hook it with a hanger through the window opening. Pull up and it unlocks.
