Build your own bead locks?

Has any one used one of these kits that rocklogic, or rock stomper sells to weld on to steel wheels. Dose the rocklogic kit require the outer lip be cut off then the rings be welded on, or do you weld to out side of wheel like the rock stomper brand. I know there's some people from rocklogic that visit this site so your info would be great, any one that has used these kits your input would be appreciated.

99% sure you just weld to the outside of the rim

I have used the rocklogic kit...super simple to do, all you do is grind the paint off the outer lip and weld the ring on...here is an awesome write-up Rockmonkey did installing the rocklogic kit...

I'll TIG weld them on for $20 a wheel if you want. (Flatter, stronger, far less likely to leak)

they are a sweet deal. i just finished mine.
if i were you i'd have them tig welded for 20 a wheel.
i welded mine and it went well but they leak a little, but for a trailered rig it doesn't matter much imo.
