Camping In Yellowstone

i'm going on a road trip from billings, mt down to vegas at the beginning of october. where are some places to camp (for free) around the yellowstone area. i already know of tons of places in utah and one place outside jackson, wyoming. i just don't feel like paying for camping in the park. a little outside the park is fine too.

As far as camping with a tent area and a nice little firepit you're going to pay...

If you are looking for somewhere to sleep the lodge parking lots are a good bet.

you can come camp in my yard . i am moving to Bozeman in a few days.

madison juntion Campground

about 14 miles into the park from West Yellowstone Montana there is a campground that last time I was there only charged $8 a night... you can put your stuff up and have shower and then walk down to the river and watch all the animals come down to drink from the river. there use to be a nice hot pot there that everyone use to skinny dip in... we would be there on the full moon (no not those ones) and you could see everything that came down to the river.
