I don't quite remember which init level is which on debian other than 0, 1, and 6 (halt , single user, reboot) which is pretty much common .. slackware uses init 4 to startup the display manager.

Here I have the X server runing on my XP box so the i can have the best of both worlds.. XP for games while still having my linux apps run on the linux box but being displayed on the XP box.

now to finger out why my routers can't ping outside of themselves but are sharing routes and will allow hosts to ping thru them.

are they criscos?

I know there is an issue when you are using a loopback address for the address and then using ip unnumbered loopback and OSPF or RIPV2. If you feel like disclosing the configs you could PM Me, I'm pretty good with routers.
