Could this be a cracked header?

On my buddies TJ his center console (the plastic part) gets pretty hot. Also the handle to put it into 4WD gets hot. It's to the point where it is hot to the touch. If it's not a header issue, what could it be?

Yeah it is! Quit touching the console & 4wd shifter & you won't know they're hot!

The issue has been resolved! It was a torn secondary shifter boot.
