I'm looking for opinions on what gear oil I should run in my differentials. Rear is D44 w/Detroit locker, 4:88 ratio. Front is just a stock D30 and this is also my daily driver. People in the parts stores all have their opinions as do the racing guys, I'd like to hear from people in the rockcrawling community. The racing guys seem to like a much heavier weight when running a locker and everyone seems to like synthetic. What do you guys think?

I like synthetic too. It really does hold up about a million times better.

Dunno......I probably should check mine out. Was the breather torn up during Hole in the Rock? or afterwards?
I don't want to even think about it. If it's been torn up that long and had water in it from that crossing for that long then that sucks. I'm pulling both diffs tomorrow, we'll see.

I pull my covers enough, I just put cheap oil in there.
