We took off From Grand Junction tue morning for the Crawl Magazine readers trail run, we played at Area BFE all day, ran Hells Revenge Wed, Wed night in the dark we ran Moab Rim
Thursday we ran Pritchett with the jeep safari, one of our trail leaders was getting pumped up listining to Rocky right before rock pile, i think he got a little to pumped because he ended up
on his lid, Friday we went back out to bfe to run green day and upper helldarado again.

Here is the video of Gary Lees rear back flip and nose stand off the Rock Pile

If you look closely at 8 sec his rear locker gives out , letting the rear tires take turns at spinning, oscillating the sami and causing the roll.

Goes to show a bad bounce along with mechanical failure can have consequences.

He has made this successfully several times before and usually makes it look easy

oh yeah Gary and his rig were fine, just took a kiss on the hood was all no big deal just a little cosmetic, i am sure he is a little sad because right before he went up i was just telling him how much i liked his clean zuki,both him and his wife were super nice people and both very knowledgable wheelers , i guess she did the same thing the day prior ...

Thanks for the video! Gary was trying to describe what happened, but it was hard to visualize. I'm not sure if there was anything wrong with the locker or not, but I do know that RockPile was a bear this weekend! Two weeks before safari we all climbed it uneventfully, but on Monday I rolled on it. (It was snowing that day, maybe the cold weather had something to do with it? I had Larry McRea with us in his Poison Spyder race rig, and even he couldn't climb it after multiple tries). On Saturday, Melissa (Gary's wife) rolled on it, then Gary on Thursday.


Total damage was pretty minimal. My rig escaped pretty much unscathed, and Melissa lost a windshield. Gary broke the glass in the windshield, dented the hood up pretty bad, and broke the top of the stock plastic radiator. All in all, not bad!

Inner air locks weren't fully inflated. Probably the only thing I didn't check before heading out.

There was air in them when I passed him in town this morning on the way home.

Nope! Luckily a guy came past shortly after with a small compressor and we aired right up. Made sure to put the proper psi in the air locks this time.

We took it fairly easy this trip. Went out to Prichett arch and came back through behind the rocks. Our trip was cut short though when my front drive shaft broke climbing up white knuckle hill due to Six States poor welding job.
