i am from a state that doesn't do emissions and have heard that vehicles with a motor swap. 1 need to be of the same year or newer and 2 need to be a motor swap that was an option from the factory. do both these rules fall into efect here in utah? and if not would i be able to put a carberated 350 into say a tj?

thanks

I dont think there is anything stating that it has to be an option. But the motor must be the same year or newer.

say 2001 chevy 5.3L would be ok in a 1997 tj.

Also must have all emissions controls the original engine had. If the original had an AIR pump the replacement has to have one as well.

what happens if you plan to use the vehicle for off road use only. does it still need to be registered and does it still need the emission...blah blah blah
if your gonna use it for ohv use than iam pretty sure you can put whatever you want into it. and i doubt it will need to pass emmisions.

If you register it as an ohv, no saftey or emissions, its just like a 4 wheeler
