I am going to look at a donor truck for my future buggy build can anyone tell me is there any way to tell the difference in a 502 and a 454 just by looking at it? From the pics (Horrible Quality) it looks like an old school carbed 454 but I am bot sure if there is a visual difference

I don't think there is any visual difference between the two. The displacement is made up from a change in the bore and stroke of the motor. Only way to know for sure is tear it down and inspect what is inside.

The 502 a crate block, with its own casting numbers, 14096859, 10237300, or 12561358.
