There's a group of us that are planning on camping and wheeling the Ephraim area for labor day weekend 2014 and I thought I would extend the invite to some folks on RME4x4.

~ Our plan ~

  1. Friday evening commute from SLC area to Ephraim camping area around 5-6:30pm
  2. Campout about approx. 5 miles up Ephraim Canyon Friday thru Monday
  3. Wheel Hanging Tree Trail Saturday Morning around 10-11am
  4. Go back to camp Saturday night, either fish or do some two tracking if daylight is available. Tunes, Campfire, Grilling out Sat night.
  5. Sunday wake up and make some decent breakfast and do some two tracking on Skyline Drive area. Tunes, Campfire, Grilling out Sun night.
  6. Monday wake up and do some more two tracking on Skyline Drive area, or go to Yuba Reservoir to sit on the beach and float/paddle for the day.

Notes: car and motorbike accessible, good dogs allowed, ATV 2tracking/adventuring, friendly camper/fisherman welcome (no wheeling reg required), alcohol partaking w/ mild partying will ensue around the fire pit.

Camping/Fishing will be very close to Lake Hill Campground.

Hanging tree invite is based on you wheeling skill, typically min 35's and dual lockers. Schedule 6 hours on the trail
(8-10hrs if we encounter major problems or have over 8 rigs)

I got your text, I will be putting my bike back together in anticipation for next weeks race in Wendover, that said once its back together I will have to take it for a test/tune run, might have to find you in the process. looks like a fun weekend. If your still interested in doing a Richfield trail i might be able to find you a guide.

Yeah I would def be interested in doing a Richfield Trail since I've never been on them before. Either Sunday or Monday if you can get a trail leader set up would be terrific...

I'll have cell service pretty much all weekend, thanks!

Camping Directions

Camping spot up Ephraim Canyon for Labor Day 2014:

  • Turn Left exactly 0.4 miles past lake hill campground turnoff. You will see a gravel drive on the Left. (Marker # 51105).

  • Take that gravel road 0.2 miles back to the campsites. There's a surprise field way back in the woods that should support all who attend.

This pic shows how you pass the campground road on your Right and take essentially the 1st left to our secluded campsite.
