I met Justin at Mt. Logan Offroad a year or two ago and was instantly impressed with his friendly attitude and the way he treated you like a friend as soon as you met him. You couldn't know a nicer guy. He was always a lot of fun to talk to about his Jeeps and adventures. His family and friends will be in my thoughts and prayers...

Justin Phillipps Cunningham 3/21/84 ~ 10/15/05 WEST VALLEY CITY, UT - Justin Phillipps Cunningham, born March 21, 1984, lived a wonderful life filled with adventure and love. He accidentally died October 15, 2005, while performing a compassionate act of kindness, trying to save his puppy, Blade, from drowning. He graduated from Hunter High School, where he was captain of the football team, and attended Utah State and SLCC. Justin was an active member of the LDS church and an Eagle Scout. He was employed by C&H Construction and enjoyed working side-by-side with his father and brothers. Justin had an enormous heart that was matched only by his brilliant smile. He truly would give you the shirt off his back (and he wore some crazy ones!) His life was filled with numerous family and friends with whom he snowboarded Mt Hood, Jeeped at Moab, scuba dived in Cancun, and fished the Sea of Cortez. He was also a talented artist and mechanic who could modify everything from vintage El Caminos to Jeeps. He was always looking forward to his next great adventure. Justin was accepting of everyone and judgmental of no one. When others would only think of doing something good, Justin would have already done it! Justin's friendships were deep and lasting, evidenced by his habit of exceeding his text-messaging minutes. He cultivated and maintained friendships he began even in his early childhood. Justin is survived by his parents, Joseph and Karen Cunningham, brothers Cade and Travis and sister-in-law Nikki. Justin also leaves behind many loving cousins, aunts and uncles. Surviving grandparents, Phillipp and Jerry Condie (West Valley) and John and Josephine Cunningham (St. George). Justin, because of you, we will love stronger, laugh louder, and live larger. Your smile will help us carry on until we are together again. We love you, our sweet son. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2005 at 12:00 Noon at the Memorial Ward Chapel, 4251 South 4800 West. Friends and family may call Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South, and from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church on Thursday. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park. www.mem.com

We spent a day shooting some footage with the Mt Logan boys and company up at Logan during the Cache Valley cruise-In. Justin and Josh (Ayers) quickly stole the show and constantly hammed it up for the camera. They were absolutely great and the footage is absolutely hilarious! Justin was a very unique guy to say the least! He will be missed. GR4 offers our condolences to those whom he was survived by, including his extended off-road family.
