And can't you run different ratios as long as they are close? I know the truck I have has 4.11 in the back, and 4.09 up front.

Yes, you can. I was running 5.38's in a front axle and 5.29's in the rear. Plenty of people have done it w/o problems, there's a figure that says something like; As long as the ratios are within 1% of each other, you're good. Don't quote me on that, but it's along those lines.
