We figured out how to put 2015+ plastics on the 2003. It looks showroom fresh.

I ripped it around a bunch and it is a riot. It's so responsive and snappy. Jetting is spot on and the new piston and reeds are sweet. I'll see if I've got a little video or ripping it around.
Kid was stoked! He was pulling tire EVERY gear change down the road and didn't even know it!

Nice job! Lucky kid to have you as a neighbor!
Very cool Stratton, that's a neat thing you've done!
Thanks for the kind words guys.
I'm mostly excited to see the perma-grin stuck on this kid's face.

Here we are so far. It needs a new air filter too but I think this is a really doable number for a summer job + babysitting and lawn mowing. He's got a bunch of work ahead of him to earn this money but I'll bet we'll have $400-$500 equity into it at this point..

This kid has been working hard babysitting and mowing to earn his bike and I think he's got enough into it to take him up in the hills to practice.
Problem is he really needs a helmet, so I can take him to go ride.

I've given him a full set of hand-me-down gear, boots and pads but all my old helmets are size Large and he really needs a medium.

Does anyone have a good safe medium helmet I could purchase for him for not a lot?
