Eastern Utah Heading to Dinosaur National Monument.. Need advise

We are heading to DNM in a little bit, and I am trying to get our trip planned. I am struggling hard with a spot to camp. Isn't the majority of the area around Jensen open BLM land? Is there a best spot to camp?
We will visit DNM, Fantasy Canyon, The Natural history museum in vernal, and Mckonkie ranch ... what else should be on our list?

we camped off Deep Creek Rd. (fr539 but the sign on 44 says deep creek)
