I have an option to buy a 92 fuel injected engine with the serpentine belt system on it. I have an 85 block that is awesome. I also have an option to buy a set of vortec heads that are in really good shape.

Problem:

If I put the vortec heads on the 85 block, will the manifold and the serpentine system fit with the vortec heads? I am going to go fuel injection with or without the vortec heads, and I am going to use the manifold and serpentine system from the 92 no matter what. If the vortec heads would fit then that wold be awesme. I just dont know if I have to have a vortec manifold for it.

intake -no (you can buy a manifold to make this work tho- ~$200)
exhaust - should
serpentine - yes

It's not, the L31 block is pretty well the same as the older blocks. (there are some holes tapped metric instead of sae, but I think that's it and there are some factory roller versions the vortec block) DaBruin said he already had a good longblock. If the Vortec engine is still in good shape I'd use it intact, especially if it's a roller block.
