Home insulation options and opinions

So I bought a fixer up home and now its stripped completely to the framing to update, modify and just basically redo the crap that is broken.
I need to re insulate the home. I am looking for people that have used the foam insulation and want to know your thoughts.
I would love to do it cheap but i dont think there is an option for that for spray foam. I have read about some do it your self kits but its almost worth the price to have some one foam it.

What other options that are worth thinking about besides foam?

For those that have used it or have it in their home is it worth the cost?
What are the pros and cons that you have found?

Spray in cellulose. I've done it on both homes I've built for myself. It has a binder in it so it isn't lose and settles. It also has a fire retardant in it. Works damn good! Bro in laws house burned down. Walls were on touched. Fills all the nooks and crannies.
