How awesome are these gas prices!

It sure is nice paying $279 for gas. I like to complain when prices are high, but it's really nice to see them so low for a change. That means I can afford to get out more.

Gas should be 1.79, it was not too long in the past but people forget and get used to it I guess. Don't get me wrong, I like it when gas comes "down" to 2.79 but we seem to callus up and get used things that shouldn't be. Diesel is still in the 3.80 range btw. :(

My first car was a 93 civic. My first tank I had to fill up from empty was $11. My first tank in my scooter after I bought it from the dealer was $1.75. That scooter was in 05 and the civic in 01. Our cars are premium so were still around $3. Nice to have it come down though. Hopefully it continues.

While I agree it's nice to see gas under $3 again, it wasn't all that long ago that gas was under $2. Looking back to the late 90's when it was under $1 - it's now "only" triple the price it was less than 15 years ago.

I remember walking with $1 to the store and filling my gallon gas can and having enough left to buy a candy bar for a snack while mowing neighbors lawns.

I like low, but we are selling ourselves short. This is exactly what big oil wants. Notice that prices still creep up? Jack prices up then lower a litlle and everyone is happy.

Not worth celebrating over, less than $2, ill do a happy dance.

Agreed! High prices for a few years, then drop the price for a few weeks and they look like Gods... :mad2:

I paid $3.45 for diesel today. While that's much better than $4.45, it still needs to be about $2 lower before I'm happy again.

It sure beats the $4.59 I paid at the end of the Rubicon this year.

What kills me is in the late 90's my dad bought his first powerstroke. I couldn't believe everyone didn't have one. It had tons of power, got in the low to mid teens and the fuel was 20 to 50 cents a gallon cheaper. Funny how it's the opposite now that all the car companies make good powerful diesels. I doubt the refining cost has changed vs gasoline.
