increasing engine idle

my 01 TJ has been idling at 500 rpm ever since i went to 35s. the engine seems to be sputtering because of the low rpms and the check engine light finally came on. so how do i go about increasing the idle to a normal 700-800 range?

We can scan it for ya and reset the light.....
Let's check it first before you go adjusting things...
Could just be idle air control-quite a bit of trouble with those.

That sounds kinda like what happened when my TPS went out, but mine ran like crap. A little water on the connections and the whole thing shorts out!
