jeep t case ?

anyone know what t case would be in an 87 xj with a 4.0 aw4 im looking at getting a sye kit

NP 231 or an NP 242... if you have 2WD N 4WD and 4LO you have an NP 231... add Full Time 4WD into that pattern and you have a NP 242... you can also just crawl under and look at the tag on the back side

thanks its the 231 i could crawl under it but then id have to get wet and cold thanks for the help

NP 231 has multiple input splines and shaft lengths. Yours should be a 21 spline short input with mechanical speedo, if memory serves me right. Advance Adapters has a great chart on their website with all the different Jeep T-case configurations.
