I have recently start on a 79 chevy pickup. This truck used to be my dads before he passed away from cancer in 96. My brother had a the truck for a few years and gave it to me with somthing knocking. So to start this i need to find out if i can even use the block again, from what i have heard my dad had it bored pretty thin. anyways here are some pics of where i started and where i am with it now..
I know its in terrible shape.
Here is what i have done the past few weeks. moving along slowly but getting there.. My point in this is to pull of the head and see what numbers are stamped on the pistons... if its too thin i will have to buy another block.
OK for everyones information.. i am totally new at this. I know some stuff but not alot. I am trying and i think i will do ok.
My plans for this truck are a full rebulld/restoration. I want a pavent pounder.. fast off the line.. and HUGE.. LOL anyways i will keep posting pics and updates if yall are interested. If you have any ideas for me let me know. Thank you!!
