Position: Network Technician
Department: Inside Plant - IT
Job Status: Full Time
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Reports To: Inside Plant Manager
Amount of Travel Required: 10%
Pay:38-61k : DOE

Work Schedule:
This is a full time position with standard hours running 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some after-hours and weekend work will be required.

Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Inside Plant Manager, the Network Technician will work on and with the entire company local area or wide area network.
Essential Functions:
The network technician will design, install, maintain and coordinate Emery Telcom’s local area and wide area network. The network technician will evaluate hardware or software, including peripheral output and telecommunications equipment. This can take place on both the inside plant or LAN side of the company. The network technician will also share some administrator tasks with the Information Technology/Network Administrator. So the technician will enforce security procedures, install network software and manager network performance. Also, the incumbent will need to troubleshoot and resolve general network problems. The network technician will be part of a team that implements and coordinates network policies, procedures and standards. The network technician will need to train other employees, especially CSRs, concerning network operations. Also this person will need to be familiar with several types of servers, network gear and routers.

Education: High school diploma is required. Network certifications or a bachelor’s degree in networking or similar field is also required.
Experience: 3 years of networking experience is required
Physical Demands: The position will require frequently standing, walking, sitting, bending and kneeling. The position will require the ability to lift over 60 lbs and push or pull 30 to 45 lbs. The Network Technician will work in office, Central Office and Network hub situations.
