Kanab Trail Ride May 13th & 14th

The Canyon Country 4x4 Club will be having a trail ride in the Hog Canyon area north of Kanab, Ut. Trails will range from 3 to 4+.

We will be meeting at the Hog Canyon staging area at 9:00 a.m. Sat.
May 13th. Trail rides will be arranged for anyone wanting to go on the 14th.

Good Time

For anyone that hasn't been to Kanab. These guys put on a good time. Neat area to wheel and a chance to see what being proactive can do to establish designated routes.

Hog Canyon turnoff from Hwy.89 37044363 N. 112321791 W.
Hog Canyon Staging Area 37045694 N. 112313503 W.

The turnoff to Hog Canyon is on the east side of Hwy.89 just south of mile post 67. This is just approx. 1/4 mile south of the port of entry. Look for the pit where they have been taking out sand. The road is right on the south side of this pit. We should have a sign there.

If you were at the St. George ride and need some more, come on over. If you missed the St. George ride and now have a big empty feeling in your soul, come to this ride and we'll do what we can to make you whole again.

Give Don a call, Or you should see some of us running around in the morning in or around the FOODTOWN. It's really easy to find.

If you want to find it on mapquest, Look for Kanab, Hog Canyon is just 1 1/2 to 2 miles north of town on Hwy 89.

There will be a 10k run going on that same morning past our entrance so there may be delays of up to twenty minutes getting in as they shut down a lane of traffic for the race. We'll be watching and not leave anyone behind who is waiting to get in.

We have some great prizes for our fund raiser including a set of four 33 x 12.50 x 15" tires.

General directions from Salt Lake;
Take I 15 south past Beaver, take the hwy 20 exit and take hwy 20 across the mountain to Hwy 89. Follow 89 south to Panguitch, be sure to turn left at the intersection in Panguitch. Continue on Hwy 89 for about 60 miles, when you are getting close to Kanab, watch on the east side of 89 for the Port of Entry. The Hog Canyon turnoff is just south of this where the large sand pit is. Look for the old semi cab. We'll have a sign up at the turnoff.
