I bought this cherokee about 6 months ago for 300 bucks from work. It had 180k and the had a bad transmission and really needed some serious maintanence. But everything was there. The main duty of this rig will be camping and expedition or overland trave hopefully on the cheap. I have tried to buy all aftermarket parts used, all other maintanence parts were new for reliability. My buggy is not up to these types of trips, and neither is my tow rig, so this fill the gap nicely. It took about 2 months to get it home as my summer prioroties are heavy, but it came home with it's new cheap transmission and ready for it's first mods. First mod was the Old Man Emu suspension I got through Kurt at Crusier outfitters. I pieced together a kit that I thought should net me around 3.5 inches of lift loaded when all was said and done. Here is the install, along with some almost new cheap teraflex lower control arms I got with the help from Carl.

I bought the rear dana 44 out a u pull it yard for 100 bucks, can't beat that! Only problem was I broke a lower shock mount stud. It got replaced with a grade 8 - 5/8 shank bolt. I also built some I Lean inspired diff protection and installed a lock right

I finally drove it after the doing the lift last weekend, so far so good. This weekend I replaced the tie rod with a v8 zj tie rod. I also scored a sweet deal on this used ARB bumper and got that on today:D

It's still running cheap for now, I was just under 2000 dollars, before I bought the arb bumper this weekend which cost me more then the jeep:D

I hope so Shane. I'm tired of working on it though, I was just thinking about the little stuff I have done and the list is huge!
I have only driven it a couple miles :-\ This weekend I will destroy that mileage number though!

So did those JKS discos take care of the clunk?

1/2 of it. Drivers side is good, everything else is brand new except the upeer control arms, they will go in next. But it did fine driving in a snow storm on the pony express fromk Faust to Wendover yesterday, excpet the raidator got clogged with fron snow 3 inches thick and I had to screw driver it out. Not bad though saying I had almost as many dirt miles as pavement yesterday
