another LAND USE RALLY!!! plan on it!

Hey all,
Here's another upcoming Land Use Rally, and this one has wheeling potential after it is all over seeing how it's not going to be held at the capitol. Let's try to get about 50 rigs there all sporting American flags! If you missed the last one here is your chance to make up for it. If you are part of a CLUB.........get your CLUB involved in this!

MEDIA GATHERING HOPING TO BRING 1000 LAND USE SUPPORTERS AND THEIR TOYS, TRAILERS, HORSES AND SUCH TO A LAND RALLY IN SUPPORT OF PUBLIC LAND ACCESS.

We need your help. This coming Sunday on AT Your Leisure, (KJZZ TV, Salt Lake City , 5:30 PM) we are going to start promoting a pro land use rally to be held on Saturday, June 14th. Utah Division of Parks and Recreation are in support of this event as they are granting us a permit to hold the rally at the 40 acre state park trail head to the Monte Cristo trail system east of Ogden Utah.

At Your Leisure will cover the rally for their future episodes, and will be providing media kits of the event including video, sound-bites, and story outlines for all broadcast media, both local and national. To make this a true national story, we need to fill up that 10 acre parking lot with snowmobiles, atvs, jeeps, dirt bikes, boats, watercraft, horses, mountain bikes, virtually any and all recreational users of public land, to show that there is broad support for access ( even among those who sometimes compete
for access)

We will be using the airwaves to promote the event for the next month, If we fill that parking lot, we will create a picture and send a message that will bolster the efforts of the current administration to roll back the wilderness closure craze to an acceptable medium. It could truly be a defining moment in future land planning. But the risk is if we don't pick up the gauntlet and turn out the masses, the other side will see a message of lack of support for our cause.

Here is how you can help. We need you to spread the word through your organizations to get the message out to all your members. We need to promote the importance of the event, and the need for people to speak out about access. We need to send a message to SUWA that will be loud and clear and undeniable.

We also need to get as many clubs, associations, and organizations there to set up tables and displays to reach the people we turn out for the event, and to show the media that there is organized support for responsible recreation on public lands.

We also need your best speakers to show up for the event.

The final thing that will help us, is to let us know how many people you can commit from your club to attend in advance. Planning for those who attend will be important to maximize the impact of the event

Broadcast coverage of the event is guaranteed, and the story will be distributed. This is the chance to draw a line in the sand.

The Multiple Access Conservation Coalition (MACC) will be organizing the event, but it is a rally that will be sponsored by all of the supporting organizations. Please contact me as soon as you can to let me know what kind of support and help you can give to this effort.

Here's a map and details about the ProAccess Rally at Monte Cristo. The event will begin at 10:00 am on June14th. At the Monte Cristo Trailhead (a state Park area) The directions are
as follows:

From the mouth of Ogden canyon go east up the canyon. When you get to Pineview Reservoir stay to the south side of the reservoir and continue east. The road will turn to the north and take you to the east side of Huntsville. After proceeding 10.2 miles from the mouth of Ogden Canyon you will make a right turn on State Road 39. (The hard part is over) Going east on 39 you will continue up Ogden canyon along the south fork of the
Ogden River. After another 8.6 miles you will see the sign to Causey Reservoir, stay on state Road 39. The State Parks and Recreation Department has a trailhead that is located at approximately 32.6 miles from the mouth of Ogden Canyon (about 12 from Huntsville) N41 24.715 W111 32.004 is the
approximate GPS location. Look for a sign at the location. If you get to the town of Woodruff, Utah, you missed it and you went way too far.

We are inviting all clubs and associations to set up tables and information to recruit members and support. The more clubs display, the more widespread our influence will seem. There will be free soft drinks and snacks for everybody that shows up compliments of Rocky Mountain ATV. Rally speakers
will talk and answer questions from 11:00 AM to 11:45 . At 11:45 we will ask all participants to get in their rigs, towing what ever toys they have and turn their lights on to motorcade from the trail head to Pineview reservoir in Huntsville. We should be finished by noon allowing clubs and groups time to go play on the water and on the trails for the afternoon. Enclosed is a map. AT least two local media will be there and we have arranged to send media packages to at least two network programs on the
Outdoor Channel.

Count me and maybe Moabrat IN!!

I am thinking that a little JetSkiing would be mandatory if we go to Pineview! Nothing like 80 MPH, on a two seater Kawasaki!

Last chance to show your support for our sport!!!!!!!!

This is a good thought on the subject from a good friend:

"Providence Canyon [or A.F., or any other trail that you may have planned on this weekend] will be there next week and the week after but the Multiple Access Rally won't. Its time to support those that are trying to keep trails like Providence Canyon [and A.F. and others] open. Change the plans and all of you show up for the rally. Its important that we are there in force. I changed my Saturday plans to attend. It hurt a bit but I know how important it is to be at the rally and I hope all of you who are planning on Providence Canyon will see it too. Who knows it may be Providence Canyon this group needs to fight for next. Give them your support!"

Marsha

Remember, if you don't show up then you don't have a right to bitch when they close down your favorite trail!!!
