Were your sprinklers on during this or was it just the grass buffer that saved you?
Just the grass, it's wild my trees all look like it's October and they are ready to drop leaves. I have cherry trees on the opposite side and they look scorched. My neighbors had their sprinkler running and so it cooled their vinyl fence and the heat warped it but didn't start it on fire like the house you see up the street. I talked to some news people gave the channel 5 guy a copy so maybe it will wind up on the news tonight.

Thanks I checked out their 6:00 live stream and I'm in it twice. Louis makes a better spokesman so glad they got him in front of the camera.
I took a walk with a couple of my girls out back tonight, I'll have to post some pictures from my daughter, saw about 10 rabbits running around in the ash so not all the bunnies are gone, there are sections where it looks like the fire just jumped 20 feet then decided to get going again. When you get at the right angle the spider webs shine in the light and they are everywhere.

Some pics of stuff plants around my house, maybe someone knows more than I do and can tell if these are just doing a slow death or if they will bounce back. First one is my Austrian pine, it took a full hit with the fire, the neighbors fence behind it got hot enough to melt/deform and collapse parts of it, the bark is a bit burned at the bottom but not sure if it's going to kill it. The Second is my honey suckle, it's probably 30+ feet from where the fire stopped will probably survive but is probably just going to be ugly the rest of the year. Next is my lilac tree which is right on the park strip about 100 feet from where the fire stopped and the last is my mint plant which was sheltered next to the house on the opposite side of the fire (check out line that looks scorched vs untouched). Neighbor across the street was talking with me and his rose bush about 150 feet from where the fire stopped looks wilted/dried out from the fire.

I feel for the FBI analysts that had to scour hours of NASCAR footage to piece that timeline together.

@mbryson my point is that if it were an actual noose knot, by nature it slips when under load - which would make a terrible door pull... I don't know for a fact, as I've not inspected this rope myself, but I'd be willing to bet it is a solid knot then wrapped to mimic the look of a noose. And as you can see, was there for at least 6mo prior to Bubba Smollet the racecard driver being assigned to that garage.

You guys know he didn't see it himself, right? And presumably the guy who did see it is not a knot expert that can tell the difference between a hangman's knot and a duncan knot or whatever that actually was? And presumably neither had been in that particular garage to know that it had been there for months? A crew member saw what looked like a hate crime and reported it, and in the current climate I don't blame them for being sensitive. The FBI investigated, determined it was not a hate crime, just a coincidence. Everybody else is over it. You guys should get over it too.

Bubba Smollet the racecard driver

And this in particular... I'm sorry Sami, but if you're asserting that he deliberately put that rope there so that he could play the race card, please go do it over in the Protests thread where I can ignore it along with all the other bullshit flying around here. This is the "Lighten The Mood" thread, not the "Make It Worse" thread.

I completely disagree. It's BECAUSE of the current climate that a little more thought and effort should have gone into it BEFORE alerting the press and making a scene. It would have taken just a few people thinking straight to realize what was going on. They blew everything out of proportion, and deserve every meme made that makes fun of their stupidity.

This is also how I feel about the situation. If someone on your team got freaked out by something they thought was a noose, wouldn't you go look at it first, then check a few other garages to see if they had the same thing? Wouldn't you do that just to save embarrassing the team or the entire sport first?

You sure like to jump to conclusions. Fast forward..... The whole story is that Bubba Smollet then hops on CNN and publicly says the FBI's investigation is crap, and that he believes it was a message sent to him... Sorry Kevin, Bubba Smollet made in that bed, and now he's got to lay in it.
