Lights, alternator feed?

I ordered a set of these (Thanks for the pointers Wayne!):

Replacement Lights

With these in them:

130w/90w

My current dimmer switch (foot driven) is broken and not allowing to switch to low beams … with the higher wattage bulbs I also want rewire the circuit with a relay (or relays) anyway.

I found the following circuit and wondered if pulling the hots from the alternator is a good idea?

You're welcome! Delta makes some nice stuff and I've been real happy with mine for the last 3 years!!

I wouldn't go to the alternator. I would do the same thing but hook up directly to the battery. The battery will show the same voltage as the alternator but to me it seems like a smarter place to draw from. JMO
