Moab in trouble

This bill has been introduced in each Congressional session since 1992.

Luckily, SUWA and the other supporters of ARRWA are unwilling to compromise. Due to this, it's been very unlikely to pass. However, given the political climate these days, it's becoming more of a concern (until 2010 when I suspect the Dems will handily lose control of both houses). Also, if they do decide to compromise, we'd be in big trouble. Luckily, they don't really care about Wilderness. They care about fundraising and staying in business. So, they'll keep asking for their 9+ million acres while the ACTUAL unprotected Wilderness which still exists is in danger.

We the current government this might be the year for this to pass. EVERYONE who wants to be able to use these lands needs to contact their folks in DC and stop this wholesale theft of Utah lands. I find it curious that this bill only targets lands in a state that is often written off by dems as unwinable.
