I got this for 200$ to drop the motor and tranny into my sisters cherokee. so it sat for a few weeks on the side of my house on the trailer. No motor, no trans no tcase. what you see is all it had. to the scrap yard it was going to go!!! when my buddy jake stopped in one day and asked me why i didnt make this my daily? at first i thought why wast my time? I thought about it for few days. I already have a 93yj project. It has taken up most of my jeep funds to date. then I thought about just making the XJ s fun beater jeep. But then i saw a picture of a nice red XJ in a quadretec catalog.

new motor.jpgView attachment 79883A few weeks later I found a guy who was parting out his cherokee on KSL who had been "T"boned pretty good!I don't think he new what he had. New motor tranny, tcase and driveline. The tcase even came with a SYE kite. everything was already married up. I got everything you see here for 400.00. the motor only has 100k on it. no oil leaks. Again thought it was a pretty good deal when a SYE, and new custom drive line is going to be close to that in price.

A week later the same guy calls me up to tell me he is willing to sale me the rest of the jeep for 53.00$ he needed to get it out of his drive way or was going to get a ticket from Murray city. thats when my plan really took off. I figured I could strip what I needed and part the rest. Maybe make some $$$$$ back.

Hey, I was just trying to pull the driver quarter glass for a sparebefore you junked the jeep and it exploded hahaha oops

The tiny amount of money you have into this rig is sickening for how cool it is

hahahahah the best part is what you did with your rear quarter glass since then! Dry erase board vs a window AWSOME!!!!I think it was either that day or a day soon after you came over with your new set of 33 KM2s. again you became a source of inspiration for my XJ project. I wanted to get a set of 33KM2’s and I changed my idea of lift height. So that’s what I have done, A little trimming and got me some 285/75/16 KM2s. I really cant see myself going any higher.

I went about fixing and taking and replacing everything that was wrong with my red XJ, and replaced or sold off parts off my white XJ. Some peeps asked me why put so much time and energy into my project? My answer is I like jeeps 1st! second I need some experience on restoring something. I will break down how much money I saved in the next couple of posts as well. It’s a restoration project if anything. Buying everything used and trying to recycle to help with my part in going green….. Cough BS!!!! The only thing that is brand new on my Cherokee is the red top optima battery and the 8000lb warn winch.

for some reason they painted everything black in the jeep.
