I have a 94 ford f150 that has a blown fuse, the fuse controls the dash lights the running lamps and trailer lamps, the problem is everytime i put a fuse in it just blows it when i turn the lights on to see if the running lights work so i am assuming there is a short somewhere but i dont know where to start looking because the fuse controls multipule functions so is there a way to narrow it down to see what wires to look for for damage?

start with the trailer plug, it's most likely. If I remember right, it should plug in next to the tail lights, take it off and see if it will hold a fuse. if it is cut the wiring and wire a new one on. Little bit of water in there can cause corrosion to bridge connections. --> this is why GM seperated out the fuses for the trailer, so you don't lose truck lights when you plug in the trailer.
