need ideas

well i finally got pulled over tody got sighted for no rear bumper,or doors,and
nothing covering the upper part of the tires. just looked for ideas of
what do do for the rear fenders to cover the tires. i have no bed on it
right now and just some plywood on the frame railes to carry my quad.


anything quick would help or if you have a toy bed you want to get rid of
i will take it.

What are you driving? Doesn't sound like a cherokee....

find yourself a plastic barrel and cut out some fenders and mount them
as for the rear bumper I thought that was optional equip on a toyota
was it highway patrol that nailed you?

Here is the Utah Bumper law

If yours was not manufactured with a bumper you are off the hook (just learned that myself). The plastic barrel idea may be easy. I saw a bedless truck the other day with home depot style basement wells covering his tires. Plastic would be easier to work with, remove, and replace as needed.

it was a davis county shariff. and yes it was came with out a bumper
just do happens i had a toy bumper sitten in my shop so i just modified it
and put it on the end of the frame rails looks retarded but what ever works
as for the plastic thats a good idea. i will look into it

I got a ticket from a UHP officer years ago... in the list of offences, he said my 4" tall, home made bumper was not up to snuff & I needed to have a factory bumper. Toyotas came from the factory w/o a bumper!! :rolleyes: So I had more than what it came with originally, yet it wasn't enough for Johnny Law. I tried like hell to prove it, but never got anywhere & the UHP officers didn't believe me. -_-
