Think the head can reused?

I've found a few options, long and short blocks.

This one looks pretty good, but they require a rebuildable core or $350 core charge. Looks like a quality build with a bump in compression. -

That Titan engine looks like a pretty good deal, and I think the core charge is gonna be there for any engine we look at.
I think the head is still fine. Pretty sure it was just a rod that snapped. The oil is still very clean, and she still runs... Mostly. I'm surprised how very little oil came out of the hole. Maybe a tablespoon.

Any idea as to what cause the break? This is one we don’t see very often. Over reved?

All I can do is make assumptions at this point.

This Jeep had a rollover many years ago. It hasn't been daily driven since that time, which is why it only has 33k miles on it. I'm guessing a little oil leaked into the cylinder at the time of the rollover and slightly bent/damaged a connecting rod, and it's just taken a while to rear it's ugly head.

Shit happens, and no one expected this to happen. I don't blame Carl or any one else for this. He couldn't have known this was gonna happen. Anthony doesn't drive it hard or over rev the motor, and it wasn't a cold motor when it happened. He had been on the road for over an hour when it let go. He still loves the Jeep and can't wait to learn how to swap a motor this weekend.

LOL, the whole bottom left corner of the block is only held in place by the Trans and the oil pan.

I'm thinking of making a video tomorrow with my gopro and some good lighting. Fire that sucker up and pin the throttle while the gopro is pointed at the hole in the block.
