need to drain fuel from YJ tank

I have maybe 10 gallons of OLD gas in my YJ tank that I need to drain. Is there a trick to doing this without having to drop the tank? It has a GM TBI external fuel pump and I was wondering if it would be feasible to just disconnect the fuel output line and have the fuel pump do the work. Seems like it would work, but I'm sure I'm missing something. Any help is appreciated. thanks

I just picked up a siphon pump from harbor freight for a couple bucks, shoved the hose down the gas filler, and out it came.

Just don't try to siphon it with your mouth

I just jumped the wires on my fuel pump when I was getting ready to drop my tank and let the fuel pump do the work like you said

yeah, my fuel pump was dead, which necessitated the draining. With a good pump, I would use it.
