thats just stupidity at work... I always wondered why the snorkel on the hummer was set 4 inches above the cab of the hummer... did they have snorkels on themselves?

Are they destroyed? I mean the industrial diesels they use should be salvageable and everything else could be dried out. It was an obvious dumb mistake but without video leading up to the situation we may never know what was in their minds.

I got to admit I'm thinking they can recover it. If the dairy farmers can figure out how to kill the vacuum on a milking machine when milk gets close to entering where it shouldn't the Military should be able to figure out how to keep water from killing a truck.
