Could be ready for a rebuild. Knocking because its out of oil. When its ready for a rebuild it can do this as well as some motors will do it if it is ran at high RPM at extended periods of time when it needs rebuilt.

I haven't had the time to look into it and wont for quite some time.
It doesn't have a tach so i'm not sure on the rpm but there was quite a bit of hwy from 90th and 13th west to the turn off for Faust UT. And was running 65 out there but was doing from 70-85 on the way back.
I'm gonna try and cut my losses and i have it listed on ksl for 1500, if it doesn't sell i'll keep it and fix it when i have time.
The edge says worst case i'm looking at 2500 for a rebuild.

Well i'm glad i bought the bmw so i can still ride. Also picked up another system case for it on ebay ,should come in handy for my new mexico trip in a few weeks. Went for a 200 mile ride today. Took redwwod rd out to elberta then went left to eureka then went right to vernon and got on the pony express again and took it the the dugway turn off, then thru skull valley to i80 and back home. about 200 miles in all. got 42.8 mpg. I like this bike a whole bunch, it was fun.

Those big Beemer's are awesome. How does it do after a few hours in the saddle, still comfortable?

No haha my ars was getting sore and it has a fancy Sargent seat, cant image how it would be with the stock seat. I think it's gonna be tough on my 780 mile trip coming up.
This bike has street tires on it but it feels way more stable on the dirt roads than the ktm did. The ktm would kinda float around a bit and this one doesn't do it as much. It's still all new to me and only the second time I've been on a dirt road. I think i'm up to 600 miles under my belt now. If i remember correctly in the rider safety class i took they said most new riders crash in the first 6 months we'll February is 6 months and i'm still alive haha.

Yeah, you have to put in your time and get used to sitting for hours! Then when your arse is numb, ignore it and push on! Stock seats are usually horrible, I'm sure the Sargent is a huge improvement. Having highway pegs and changing your leg position helps, but its never easy getting used to it. Some people swear on using Sheep Skin covers, too.

Work is for people who can't fish or ride haha.
So i was telling my neighbor about my ride last weekend and he talked me into skipping out on work and going with him for a ride.

My neighbor and i skipped out again for an afternoon ride out to antelope island. I dropped the bike for the first time, no pictures and really no big deal. I was parking it and i lost my balance and the weight of the bike was just to much and down it went. I some how got out of the way pretty quickly and when i turned around it was doing circles since it was still in gear and pivoting off the valve cover. It was kinda of funny and my neighbor and both got a laugh out of it.

So my neighbor and i went for another 220 mile ride yesterday out to the golden spike rr and the spiral jetty. It was fun and so far I've put 1186 miles on it. So before the next ride i'd like to pick up a tank bag and the guts to use my hwy pegs haha, my right knee was starting to bother me on the way back. Other than that all was good.

I also was given a passenger seat by the sales man at the bmw dealer i bought the bike from and since anybody would be an idiot to climb on any bike with me haha so i pulled the cushion off and trimmed the lip off so i could install this 1.75 rotopax. Not my idea i saw it on advrider. I positioned the spout opposite the exhaust just in case it leaks.

Also my neighbor and i are gonna be taking a 4 day trip in a few weeks through southern ut and camping the whole way. His bike is a big harley and only goes about 150 miles per fill up so i may bring this just in case he needs it, but well see.

Were going i15 to hwy 6 to 89 at thistle to 31 at fairview to 10 at huntington to i70 to 72 at fremont junction to 24 at loa to 12 at torrey to 89 to 143 at panguitch to 130 west of i15 to 21 at minersville to 257 at milford to 6 to slc. Should be a good ride!

So the big beamer has been treating me well! A few weeks ago my buddy and i went for a ride to Jackson hole and back via Huntsville, Monte Cristo and star valley. It was a beautiful ride but we were unable to get a room in Jackson and to tired to ride to Idaho falls which is where we were told was the closest place to get a room. So we just pulled over some place safe and slept on the ground. Actually we just froze our asses off. I swore to never go with out my sleeping bag at a minimum for now on, which i have plenty of room for. The next day we rode over Teton pass and into Idaho falls, then took the interstate home. All in all a great ride.

So last Friday I set out for a solo ride with no destination in mind for a few days. Stopped in kamas to fill up the bike and while putting it on the center stand in order to put the max amount of fuel in it i lost my balance and dropped the bike again ugg! This is a heavy bike and even more so with my camping gear. Mostly just embarrassed but no harm to me or the bike. I need to get some crash bars if this is going to continue haha. Any way i took the mirror lake hwy to evanston then to kemmerer wy and up through big piney and over the teton pass to daniel and into driggs id. It was a beautiful ride but very windy. So the next morning it's real cloudy and looking like rain but i head out anyway. So i'm heading towards ennis mt but is starts raining and then hail and some snow in island park. I do have a riding jacket with 3 liners and i put my water proof hunting jacket on over that but my blue jeans were soaked and i was miserable so i waited out the storm in a gas station to warm up and figure out a new plan. It never really got any better so i decided to head back south where the skies looked better. So i headed through swan valley and then bear lake and up to Logan via Logan canyon. A very beautiful ride but it rained off and on the entire way and i was cold and miserable. Wet blue jeans at 70 sucks. The next morning i took a very nice ride home through paradise to liberty that had some dirt roads and then east canyon to i80 and back home. A great ride all in all but i need some better riding pants and an extra pair of gloves.
