As many of you know, GRE has been struggling to document and preserve as many mines as possible these past 10 years or so. This year, instead of our annual Spring Safari, GRE has joined up with Expedition Utah, Mojave Underground and Adopt-a-Mine to put together the National Historic Mining Initiative(NHMI). A group designed to focus the energies of all of the groups into a single focus of preservation and knowledge. As a sort of kick off to this, NHMI is hosting a Mining and History Convention in Park City, Utah at the Westgate Resort. The dates are June 17th-20th, 2010. We have massive discounts on rooms, or you can just come up for the speakers. Food will be catered by the resort as well as an awards dinner on Saturday evening.
