Official Grand Staircase Road Reports

Hi guys,
We are CC'd on the road reports from Grand Staircase so we'll post them as they come in. Keep in mind that these vary according to the weather conditions. AKA slow in the winter and summer unless there is a major road event. These also generally are tailored to stockish vehicles but its helpful particularly as roads melt out. Best is to call the visitor's center before heading there as required.. The roads in Grand Staircase are amazing if you haven't been particularly the shortcut between Escalante and the north-lake powell area...

For Boulder and east, north to as far as Hanksville please call the Cannonville office. For Escalante area and south try the Escalante visitor center / field office: 435-826-5499.

FYI – the Bullfrog Ferry is up and running for 2012 beginning April 23. Below are the links to the schedule.

Hole in the Rock 4/2/2013 2WD Washboard is quite rough. Recommend HC-4WD for last 7 miles.
Spencer Flat 3/22/2013 2WD Recent grading, sandy area on South Spencer Flat is filled, raised and graded.
