I forgot to post this a little while ago, before I moved from West Jordan I was able to get out and explore Tooele County a little bit. One place I've wanted to check out for a while was Ophir Utah. From what I have read online about Ophir is that its an unfriendly place where non locals are not welcome. Well this is not the vibe I got, from what I seen was there is a tourist parking place and the people that I did come across all waved and seemed friendly. There are a few signs saying not to speed but thats totally understandable with the small canyon. I slowed down and respected my surroundings and had a great time.
The little town offers some great sites with a bunch of old mining equipment. You can tell that the locals care for the place and have worked to preserve it.

This was very cool to see in person. An old mine chute that's still in pretty decent shape.
These pics are from another trip that I took my friend up with me a couple weekends later.
