Pilot bearing

Does any one know where I can rent or get a pilot bearing puller or any tips on getting my bearing out. I rented one from checker today and tried for about 2 hours and 3 trips back to checker to get the thing to work. The beveled tips on the one they rented sucks.

Also if anyone needs to do tranny work, Amos Rents, rents out tranny jacks for about $30 a day.

thanks

If this is on the crank, Just fill the hole with some grease, get a bolt as close to the size of the hole and screw it in or use a hammer and tap it in.
Have a look here for a few ideas as well... http://www.nichols.nu/tip627.htm
This has worked for me, You will and should get a new bearing anyhow.
Good luck

For the grease trick you can use an appropriate wooden dowel which can found on the cheap at most hardware-stores and hobby-shops. Works like a charm. That said; Auto zone rents a worthwhile puller I belive - worked fine for me anyhow.

I am with the above. Grease and wood or brass dowel works well. Wear safety glasses. Have had great results with this method.
