Because my interest is peaked, I think I'm going to go to the Archives tomorrow. Do you have any specific info you'd like me to look for? I was thinking I'd check into the claims and any documentation I can find regarding the roads and RR that went in there and maybe the town of Deer Creek. I plan to limit my search to the late 19th century for now.

Late 19th early 20th would be splendid. Claim info, town info, railroad info, toll road info, CCC work in the canyon. American Fork Irrigation Co. etc... Anything could be useful. Thanks! :hickey:

Ok, I just spent about 3 hours in the archives. Found some good info (don't know if it's suff you already have), but there is a TON more to go through. I'll turn over what I've got to you on Thursday at the U4 meeting.

super good idea. I have thought of it my self after my grandpa told me some stories. he lived in a mining camp as a kid. I love the canyon. me and my cousin wheeled all over the place for years. before the kids. not so often lately. I know a lote of trails and mines up ther but I dont know any names and detaills. if you put in G.P.S. numbers I would bye one for shure. whatever you charge. let us know.

Don't know if it helps but I have several books on american fork canyon. I also have some papers on mining that were done by some guy for his thesis. Other papers were drummed up from the forrest service station in Pleasent Grove. I know A man that actually rode the old tram from the Yankee mine down to tibble fork. I think the minig history is awesome. I would definately buy your book. I think a pocket guide would be good for just the trails and a more detailed book for those who like the history.

I'd love to take a look at what you have, but it sounds like we have alot of the same stuff. I've collected all the information I could find on the web, and I've spent a couple of hours with the history specialist for the Forest Service... but I know there is plenty of stuff I don't have. How do I get ahold of you?

Is the man you know a Trinnaman? ;) I've spoken with him on a couple of occassions, I need to meet up with him and review alot of his stuff too :D
