Your post was nearly illegible. Poor grammar, punctuation and readability is usually a sign something was written in haste... or anger. I might be angry too if I was going to lose business because I treated customers poorly.

What, you want a $12/hour counter guy to write a dissertation? (no offense UP). He's entitled to his side of the story, and you don't need to attack his grammar or (comically) try to psycho-analyze his motives because of it. I give him credit for throwing himself to the wolves here.

I didn't think it read all that bad personally. We have members that make his posts look like the brilliant pentameter of Billy Shakespear (Wild Bill for instance).

I worked in retail/customer service/install for 10 years. I tend to think the "we don't want your business anyway" comment was fabricated, or at least I hope it was. I honestly can't see anyone going out of their way to say something like that when a very polite and extremely condescending "Have a great afternoon sir" would have perfectly countered the "thanks for nothing" comment. :D

BTW, don't get me wrong. I'm definitely not supporting the actions of the service personnel here, or taking sides. Merely making a comment.

I believe I will have to start purchasing some stuff from Jack-It. Only for the simple fact that they made a XJ guy cry about not feeling special.

Do you ***** about when the fast food resturant has a line? Or the gas station attendent does not stroke your ego on how cool your XJ is?

Heads up the customer is not always right.

Coming on here and whining how 6 people didn't greet you at the door and beg for your attention to help you is ridiculous.

Maybe, just maybe you should of been a little patient and take into consideration you are not the only person they may have been needing to help at that time.

I've never had any issues with jackit. Ive even gone in, asked thirty questions about parts, and then left without buying anything. I don't go out of my way to go there but when a part is cheaper I buy from them.

I wait ten minutes in line at Wal mart, or subway, or the movie theater on Friday night. I don't understanding what the big deal is.

I like Todd and his crew at Jack-It very much. They have been very helpful to me and have always given me a fair price.

As for my conversation with Todd: it was sort and to the point, I'm not really one for anger.
Todd neither apologized for what happened or said anything about reprimanding any employee... he did say that he feels like his employees do the best they can and said, "I'm sorry you don't want to do business with us anymore."

What did you mean by "sort and to the point?" lol

Granted he is boobing about it, but his money left in his pocket instead of Jack It's register.

not to say that gravedigger is this way, but there are plenty of customers that are not worth doing business with. People who think their time is worth more than someone elses, or that service people should jump through hoops to earn their dollars are those kind of people. Soime people think the world is whoever-they-are-centric and it's not.

I've been in the middle of a transaction before and told people that I was no longer willing to help them. You forget that service people have a right to refuse service to anyone.

and in case someone on here didn't already know, as soon as you start being an a-hole or start making demands, is the exact second that person who is trying to help you shuts off and stops caring about you. You will get 10x's further in any issue by being extremely polite, understanding, and nice. I will do things I'm not supposed to to help someone who is nice, but some asshole that comes in pissing and moaning and demanding satisfaction or a manager to talk to....ya that guy gets the shaft every time even when I could have helped him. I"ll never reward that kind of assholery

These are the certain inconvenient truths of retail sales:

1: The customer is not always right but always carries the money that keeps you in business.

2: If the customer doesn't spend the money at your business, you can bet he is going to spend it at your local competitor.

3: You better get used to kissing some butt in sales, if you can't handle that, get out.

4: People have to eat, so they are willing to stand in line. People have to get gas, so they are willing to stand in line. Jeep parts are discretionary, you do not have to stand in line. You do not HAVE to buy them.

5: If you want to succeed in small business, get off your duff and greet and help EVERY customer who comes in your door regardless if they are a a-hole or not.

or doesn't have the money and thats why the cheep asshole is wasting your time haggling over price when you could be helping a customer that does have the money

2: If the customer doesn't spend the money at your business, you can bet he is going to spend it at your local competitor.
or he is just wasting your time getting the info he wants so he can go buy online

3: You better get used to kissing some butt in sales, if you can't handle that, get out.
or rely on knowledge and honesty and let the rest fall into place
4: People have to eat, so they are willing to stand in line. People have to get gas, so they are willing to stand in line. Jeep parts are discretionary, you do not have to stand in line. You do not HAVE to buy them.
very true

5: If you want to succeed in small business, get off your duff and greet and help EVERY customer who comes in your door regardless if they are a a-hole or not.

if you're sitting on your duff yes. and you should acknowledge every customer for sure. But when you have 10,000 square feet to cover, and you are stacked 3 deep with customers you are helping and have customers on the other side of the store, it's sometimes difficult to greet everyone. Unfortunately, in major retail, price wars have cut so much margin out of the products that there is no longer any way to employ enough people to help every person as soon as they come in and still stay in business. It's hard enough finding 1 person that is willing to work for next to nothing and do a good job--let alone enough to cover irregular traffic patterns. Our demand for cheap products, and their availability online, has killed service. Don't blame the service person, it's all of our faults. Small retail is one more chink down the chain and suffers even more from the dwindling margins caused by big-box retailers trying to claw market share away from one another. The sad thing is, our buddy in the small business will probably not make it because customers will come to him for his service and knowledge, and then go buy from ebay.

how many posts would you have Brett if you were limited to posting in threads that had subjects that you aren't involved in or about something you haven't witnessed?

whats wrong with a customer service thread?
