Just seeing if we should try to market this bumper to the masses or not. They would work on 95.5-04 Tacomas and 96-02 4runners.

So, Would you order one of these?

Looks sweet. I'd love one of those for my 1st gen 4Runner, actually. That's almost exactly what I want to build for it, but I know you'd do it better.

I should send pictures of the bumper on my 1st gen to Scotty - I think it would sell great for 1st gens

If I had a Tacoma I'd buy one in a heartbeat. I like plate style bumpers much better then tube, but I know that tube is easier to ship and lighter...but the looks of plate is more appealing to me. I think you nailed it with that bumper...it looks sweet.

I'd even consider buying one for my Rodeo and modifying the mounts if it was close.

Looks awesome. I think a version without the winch cutout would be pretty sweet for those who don't want a winch and could open up the market a little.

If I had a toyota I would be concerned that if you come down hard on the corner it would want to fold up because I dont really think the tubing would keep it from folding up and crushing your fenders. Some where in the front winch plate it needs to be stouter. Thats the only thing I see wrong with it, other than that, it looks great.

Looks good, I like plate bumpers a lot better than tube ones. I already have a bumper, but if I were in the market, I'd want an option to order it without the stinger. I'd probably want the center section boxed in too, but I can see why you wouldn't go that route.

The only 2 plate bumpers I really like cost over $1100, and they have a 3-6 month wait period.

It's a good looking bumper. Similar to this is what I envisioned getting. I guess depending on price involved.

I will try to answer all the questions in time as we work with the design a little more. We got it painted up and will be installing it with an 8000lbs winch in the AM.

Here is the finished version of this with an 8000lb winch in it.

So, after reading through a ton of posts on several forums after we asked for feedback, this is what we have come up with.

* We will tuck the sides in a little tighter to the body at the fender line.
* We plan to raise the stinger a couple inches to match the grill line a little more.
* We will have options for a turn signal of some kind
* We will have options for light tabs on the bottom and back of the stinger to run offroad lights there
* To start out, we will not have an option for a body lift. However, we may work that option in at a later date
* Pricing is going to be $749 with the stinger. FWIW, the stinger is an intregal part of the bumper for strength reasons to help support each boxed portion.
* Shipping will be flat rate at $125 to the continental US. This is oversized, so it will not be cheap to ship.

We can probably take pre-orders by the end of the week. The nice thing is that we already have the winch mount and mounting crossmember available, so the R&D on the rest shouldn't take long at all. But, we need to build a jig for it.

Unfortunately, this truck is leaving my shop today, so we will need another truck locally to build another one on and then take it and reverse engineer it all.

A 4runner version will be next as we have two in house to work with.

The best part of this also is that the winch mount is designed around 86-95 rigs. So, it will be a seamless transition to have these available for 86-95 IFS rigs as well.

You may also want to consider a tad more clearance between the bottom of the fender and the top deck of the bumper. With the softer and softer body mounts used on Toyota in the recent years, up to 3/4" of gap is recommended by some bumper manufactures, otherwise the flexing fender will smack/rub against the stout bumper and at a minimum remove paint or more drastically crinkle fenders.
