Powell and Trails

The fam is going to Powell over the weekend of the 4th. Is there any trails near enough that I should bother towing the jeep down? I have heard of some fun stuff outside of Kanab, I just don't know how close any of these trails might be.

We have some good trails here in Kanab just outside of town. That's about 80 miles east of Powell. If you want to stop by on your way through you're welcome. I know of a lot of roads around Powell, but they are all scenic type roads that you can drive with an SUV. There is the 262 road out to the Grand Bench. There is one difficult section and the rest is graded dirt road. This is way east of Big Water and a good days drive to get out there and back.

I'll check with a club member we have over in Big Water and see if he knows of any harder trails close by.
